All A L E X Λ N D R A orders are packaged in 100% compostable, re-usable, zero waste mailers from Hero Packagingand Better Packaging Co. Hero Packaging mailers are 100% sustainable poly mailers made from plant based products PLA and compostable materials such as corn starch that help reduce our plastic waste and landfill contribution. Better Packaging Co mailers are made from POLLAST!C and are made from 100% Ocean Bound Plastic Pollution. You can even reuse these mailers for returns or other postage or packaging needs. Then, once you are done you can cut them up and add them to your home compost bin to break down within 3-4 months. Alternatively, you can throw them out and they will still decompose over time in landfill. All of our furry garments are packaged in a cotton drawstring bag which can be used for storing, traveling and protecting.

At A L E X Λ N D R A, it’s important we are supporting Australian women in need and reducing our contribution to landfill. Therefore, we donate clean and unworn clothing to Thread Together. Thread Together is an Australian-based charity who saves new clothing from going to landfill and provides these clothes to people in need. Around the world, one third of new clothing goes from factory to landfill, whilst one in eight adults and one in six children do not have adequate access to essential clothing. Thread Together collects end-of-line brand new stock from fashion retailers around the country. With the support of volunteers, the clothes are sorted in readiness to be distributed to people in need through their national network of charities and social service agencies.Our last donation was of approximately 600 items including knitted t-shirts, dresses, skirts, blazers and shorts.Part of the design process is making samples, and many of them! All the samples we no longer need are given to our local Op Shop charities or Thread Together. We are focused on not being wasteful and continue to find ways to achieve this.
